Awkward question but I am curious...?

I was just wondering if and why dreams feel so much better than the real thing. I have pleasured myself before and it still feels really good, but there is no comparison to the dream feeling. Recently I have been having a lots of these intimate dreams, and when I get there it is the most amazing sensation I have ever felt, almost like the pleasure is too much that it almost hurts, it is like unbelievable, and it lasts for a really long time, just this amazing feeling. Why doesn't it feel like that when I am conscious? Also am I the only one who gets that feeling or is it normal? Another thing, in my dreams I never actually climax, it's like I am right on the brink and it never ends, can someone explain my dreams and how they are working into my life?
