IS BUENOS AIRES& RIO DE JANEIRO SAFE, CHEAP, & WORTH GOING TO FOR VACATION? DO I NEED TO TAKE A MALARIA PILL?

Last July I went to both Buenos Aries and Rio de Janeiro. I am a 17 year old American female, and i felt completely safe. I personally enjoyed both of the cities soo much. It is hard to say though go to this city or that because they are so different. I did however find more people in argentina spoke more english. And even if they didn't you could get by because it is spanish and we could figure out a few similar words but as far as rio they speak Portuguese so it is hard to translate with them. I found everyone to be very respectful of us and it is very obvious that me and my friend were tourist for we both have blonde hair and blue eyes and no one there does...Some stuff is cheap there are a lot of like "black market" kind of stores in both cities where you can purchase like a football jersey for 7 us dollars. If you go to argentina make sure you go to the cemetery where Evita is buried it is just a beautiful place, and you have to go shopping on florida st!!! it is awesome. And as far as rio goes i enjoyed more of the natural beauty of the city like going to the top of the mtn to the christ statue and going atop sugar loaf!! and the beaches were just beautiful!!!!
