Why is the media hyped about Latin people flooding the United States?

I guess if there was a flood of people coming from Laos, China, Japan, India, Taiwan, Thailand, North & South Korea, and Indonesia everyone in the media would be screaming about an Asian Invasion plauging the country especially if the media painted them as doing cheap labor. People are people and I think some are just so hung up on the legal issue that they can't let stuff go. I guess some reporters only know how to look for the negative: point out the crime and poverty affecting African-Americans then point out the supposed laziness of day laborers who are villainized as destroying the monetary situation of the nation. Some people just love the blame game. That's sad.
