Female Betta Fish Care Help?

never took care of a betta before. i just got a female betta fish from PetSmart (she was in a cup) I put tap water into a goldfish bowl (about 7 pints) and I put 42 drops of SplendidBetta water conditioner (calls for 6 drops/pint). I let that water sit over night and than I eased her in the bowl. I took some old water out and put new water into the cup. than continued till the cup was almost all new water. than i put her in the bowl. the bowl has NOTHING in it. i got home and saw that she lost almost all her color. she used to be red but now she's almost all silverish and pale pink. i dont know if it's b/c she's adjusting or if the temp is wrong or pH. i dont have a pH tester or a heater. is she stressed? oh and if you have any first time betta care info? thank you! :)
